UAE to announce new petrol prices for May 2023

The prices for petrol had decreased in January and February this year, compared to November and December 2022. After prices rising once again in March, petrol prices saw a fall in April.

Currently, motoring in the UAE is just 2.36 percent cheaper than last month.

Since April 1 the cost of filling up vehicles in the UAE is currently:

Special 95 – AED2.90 litre from AED2.97 in March
Super 98 – AED3.01 a litre from AED3.09 in March
E-Plus – AED2.82 a litre from AED2.90 in March
Diesel – AED3.03 a litre from AED3.14 in March

Petrol prices in the UAE

Prices were frozen by the Fuel Price Committee (FPC) due to the coronavirus pandemic in 2020. The controls were later removed in March 2021 to align with rising oil prices globally.

Moreover, petrol prices are also affected by an increase in crude oil prices across the world.

Crude oil prices rose since the beginning of 2022, which directly affected petrol prices, especially due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict, as Russia is one of the world’s largest exporters of oil.

Set by UAE authorities, petrol prices in the nation follow the global price movement for oil.
