UAE ministry allows employers to ask extra 2hrs work from employees

However, there are a few conditions on which employers must adhere to.

The UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) announced that employers can ask their employees to work overtime, as per the Labour Relations Law and its regulations.

However, there are a few conditions on which employers must adhere to: Employers can ask their employees to do overtime work, according to the Labour Relations Law and its executive regulations, however, they need to takeing some conditions applied by the ministry, into consideration.

The conditions are as follows;

The establishments can ask their employees to do overtime as long as it does not exceed the period of 02 hours per day.

However, the overtime requests can exceed two hours per day, if the work is necessary to prevent any losses, incidents, to eliminate or mitigate its effects.

The tally of overtime work hours should not exceed 144 hours in each three weeks.
