UAE average spend per person on holiday to rise by 15% -20% in 2023

The average expenditure per person on a holiday is expected to be risen by 15% -20% in the year 2023, up to Dh2,500 in 2022 to Dh3,000.

The UAE’s leading online travel agency, Musafir.com revealed that the average expenditure per person on a holiday is expected to be risen by 15% -20% in the year 2023.

Accordingly, the relevant expenditures are expected to rise from Dh2,500 in 2022 to Dh3,000, mainly as a result of the increased airfares.

Musafir.com further mentions that the “International Travel” segment will enjoy a faster growth path in 2023 as compared to the previous year.

The average annual business travel expenditure of SMEs in the UAE is also expected to grow by 15-20 per cent in 2023.

The GCC, India, UK, EU countries, and the USA will continue to remain the key inbound and outbound destinations for business travellers in the region.

Sachin Gadoya, co-founder and CEO of Musafir.com and Musafir Business, says, “The travel sector constitutes nearly 10 per cent of global GDP and authorities across countries have been collaborating synergistically to put in place the levels of safety, hygiene, and comfort required for the sector to regain its lost ground.”
